I recently spent a magical 4 days in Panama for my birthday (click here to read my blog post about my time there). Not only did I have an amazing adventure there, I had fun dressing up for each activity. Now if you're a fashionista like me, putting together looks is like a sport, lol. And if you're a blogger like me, you want to look your best in every frame. Packing for my trip to Panama was so much fun, and I wanted to share my looks with you and the details of each.
My typical strategy for fashion is usually comprised of the 2 Cs: cuteness and comfort (patent pending, lol not really). That is, when I'm on vacation, I want to look good, but not at the risk of being uncomfortable. Panama is a tropical country and during the month of April (which is when I traveled there), it is quite hot and dry as they do not quite enter their rainy season at that point. So as you will see, each outfit is breathable, flowy, and, of course, tropical. Enjoy!

Until the next adventure,
I'm so excited that Spring is FINALLY here! And you know what that means? Spring dresses season!! Yasss! I'm not going to lie, it's been a rough ride with the weather going back and forth lately. So glad the warm weather is here to stay.
Spring dresses are my FAVORITE! I think I'm a little obsessed. I have so many dresses that some of my friends call me the "dress queen" lol. While the weather was still cold, I stocked up on some new dresses that I can't wait to share with you! All month long I will be talking about some of my new favorite Spring dresses. Let's start with this beauty....
This is a short navy-and-white striped dress that I got at TJ Maxx. I love that it has long sleeves for those chilly mornings. Short with long sleeves is also great for staying warm in the office :-) And the BEST thing about this dress is the tule sleeve! Bell sleeves are in, and the tule just gives it that extra umphh to put it over the top.
I love these super high chunky heels that I styled it with. The thick ankle straps give the dress an edgy feel. You could also style short dresses like these with a stiletto or a slimmer heel for a dressier look.
What I like about this dress is that it is so versatile. In this picture I look like I'm going to a casual party. But I can also wear this to work (lol, planning on wearing this to work tomorrow). Or I can put some sandals on with it and wear it to brunch with some girlfriends.

For those of you who might not know, Atlanta typically has an early Spring. But until we are in full-on Spring, the weather typically plays with our emotions, giving us one cool day in the 50's followed by a day of 75 degrees and sunny ?. I don't know about you but I am itching to bust out my sandals and spring dresses already! A few weeks ago we had a warm Saturday and you better believe I suited up to go out and enjoy the weather. Here is what I wore:
I am wearing a Jersey knit wing dress from Old Navy, in grey. I like how it fits because it hides any imperfections and is very breathable. It was affordable too! I believe I paid about $18-20 for it - score! It was a little breezy (and the dress is short-sleeved) so I wore an Old Navy brand denim jacket with it (around $25)
And FINALLY, the best part of this outfit are my FAVORITE sandals! These are an olive green suede strappy wrap around gladiator Kaara sandals from Steve Madden. They even have a nice tassel detail at the end of the straps. I got these at DSW for about $30 and they were so worth it! Super comfortable. They totally pulled the outfit together!
Now, if only the weather will cooperate, and Spring will finally set in for good. What is the weather like where you live and what are your go-to pieces for Spring?
I was totally feeling myself in this outfit! Why so dressed up? I attended the Hip Hop Nutcracker show (which I highly recommend btw!) at the Fabulous Fox Theater in Atlanta. I took my sister there as a treat for the holidays. Here's the details of my outfit:
Dress: The brand is The Limited (the original one that went bankrupt, lol). It's a fitted 3/4 length body con dress, that falls right below the knees with a gorgeous exposed zipper in in the back. It also has 3/4 length sleeves and it lined so great for winter wear! With Navy and white stripes, it goes well with my cobalt blue shoes
Shoes: Cobalt blue open toe strappy shoes. The brand is XOXO (Macy's y'all!). It has a nice, low heel for long wear, which is a win with me.
Purse: Cobalt blue clutch from Nine West to balance out the cobalt blue shoes
Earrings: These unique beauties are straight outta Thailand! And were a gift from a friend who was well aware of my earring obsession. These deserve a close-up... take a look!
